3/17/2017: Today I received a "check" from Dutch Gardens to be spent only at their online store. The check was only for the amount of the plants I paid for but not my shipping charges.
The letter that accompanied the check said they went above and beyond by refunding my cost of the plants because normally they would not do this since I didn't mail their dead plants back to them - which would have been done AT MY COST, not theirs. Well, I figured it was smarter to not throw good money after bad.
Listen, this used to be a world class company, but something happened and they clearly could care less about customer service and the quality of their product is garbage. If you want to check out the best of the best, visit Bluestone Perennials or Santa Rosa Gardens.

This company owns Dutch Gardens, an online plant store. BE FORWARNED OF THE DUTCH GARDENS REFUND/RETURN POLICIES IF YOU ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL END UP PAYING FOR THEIR MISTAKES. I ordered three Christmas cactus plants and they waited almost a month to send these to me. The plants arrived at my door mushy and dying. These were supposed to be Christmas gifts, so I immediately called the company to find out if there is any way to revive the plants, and was told to send an email to cusomter service. Three days go by without a response to my email so I called again. The rep told me that I could wait and see if the plants survive (doubtful) otherwise, my other options were to 1) get replacement plants next year because they were done shipping for the year, or 2) I could send the plants back to them AT MY EXPENSE and they would refund my money LESS MY ORIGINAL SHIPPING CHARGES! This is the most ridiculous policy I have ever heard of. So tell me what company sends you a defective product and expects you to eat the cost? I asked if I could speak with a surpervisor, but "gee, there was no supervisor working today". I asked if they could have a supervisor call me when they are available, and was told "that's not how it works, you have to call them". I asked for the name of the supervisor so I could call tomorrow, but, "gee, they don't know who might be working tomorrow, I just have to call, that is how it works". I have never been so FRUSTRATED with a company. PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ID

I don't usually take the time to do reviews but I plan to in this case. I'm a pretty good gardener. I spent over $40 on plants from Burgess and even after the replacement order nothing grew except a couple asparagus plants. I had ordered redbuds, aspens, cherry tree, butterfly bushes, lavender, daisies, asparagus, cherry bush to name a few and they arrive dead and dried up looking. It was a total waste of time and I had to buy soil, plant and water for nothing. I go to my local Lowes store and never have a loss on any plants I buy. Ordering from them seemed fun, but now after reading other reviews, I found out too late that it's pretty much a scam.

I ordered 14 plants from burgess plant and seed company after waiting two months for the arrival of my order the Oder arrived incomplete with four items missing and other items being damage. When I called to check on my order I was told that I needed to calm down ,the person could not tell me when my items would be coming and said we're done and hung up on me.

I ordered $150 worth of plants and trees last year. Many of them died. They told me to send them a shipping label and a note as to what died. Thinking they were a good company for replacing everything i ordered $170 worth this year. Now they are saying they never got the labels for last year and i have to send credit card statement even though their computer shows my order and what i paid for it. On top of that they shorted me on this years order and want to to send the label and letter for that! They are the one who shorted me and they have it on their computers as to what i ordered. I wont be doing business with them again.

I ordered from them eakier this year. Several items arrived damaged very poor quality, I contacted them was advised had to return the original shipping label together replacement. After I complained that this was not disclosed when ordering or with the shipment they agreed to one time replacement if I provide a letter explains the problem and II did not have a shipping label. I sent the documentation requested about 3 weeks ago and have not gotten the replacements. Now some more of the items have either died or not came up. Have contacted them again today. I would not recommend this company and will not purchase from them again

i have ordered from this company for 4 garden seasons. everything i have ordered and planted have grown and done extremely well. anyone that doubts this let me know ill post pictures of last years garden...couldnt be happier with their plants and i am getting ready to order this years plants. have never had a problem with receiving dead plants, matter of fact, the tomato plants look better than the local garden shops and out produce by far THANK YOU BURGESS FOR GOOD PRODUCE AND WONDERFUL PRICES

I have ordered several times from burgess and on several occasions have received plants that simply don't survive? In addition, the plant pictures they show customers are not remotely representative of what you will receive...all and all I would recommend AGAINST ordering from this company as they do not stand behind their products... Local nurseries are your best bet... Strawberry plants that are half dead, trees that are so immature they don't survive, and many other plants that are woefully inadequate for sales or survival.

I keep getting dead plants . I keep ask them please knot to sent me dead plants but they must think its funny to keep sending me dead plants . I have sent the packing slip for the same plants back twice . the last time I sent the dead plants back . the day I received the last dead plants I packed them up and sent them back the next day they must be *** to think I don't know dead plants when I see them .I keep asking them please don't send me dead plants .these people think ill get tired and stop trying to get my plants but ha ha ha ha ha ha ill never stop
