Unasked changes in my order.

My order was changed and i wasnn't asked if I wanted the items they sent instead of the ones that I ordered and I wanted to know if the items were going to be in stock any time soon .

Order damaged in route

Order was damaged in route! Round and round and round through texts as no one will answer phone! Finally agreed to reship, then turn around and say package delivered! FYI, FED-EX would not deliver damaged package! Every text takes days to be answered and always a stupider response than the previous one! Have contacted numerous agencies! Will be contacting AARP and American Legion this week! This is the absolute WORST company I have ever had dealings with!!!!!! Company has supposedly shipped plants which were guaranteed to be shipped in a timely manner for proper planting! Experiencing heat in upper nineties with heat index over 100! Really doesn’t sound like proper planting time to me! Can only imagine if bushes do indeed arrive what condition they will be in and cannot plant during such conditions anyway! Absolutely, thoroughly disgusted with this company! Have researched further and discovered they do business under umbrella of nine different companies to RIP off consumers!

Plant shipment

I e-mailed Burgess on May 12 because we had not received 50 strawberry plants that we had ordered about April 1. On May 12 after we had sent the e-mail we received an e-mail from Burgess stating our order had been sent on May 11. We received the plants on May 18. And much to our surprise they were very excellent plants and very healthy. It has been raining everyday here so we were not able to plant them until Friday May 22. But we are pleased to say the plants are thriving and look very alive and well. Maybe I was too quick to judge the service from Burgess. But their reputation had preceded them as not very reliable with their plants and service. But I will say that we have been very happy with their plants and maybe I was wrong about the planting date for our zone. Thanks so much and we would recommend Burgess as a vendor.

Rose tree dead on arrival

We ordered a rose tree in February. After it arrived and we planted it, it has never shown any signs of life. Totally dead! We sent a letter with all the required paperwork for a replacement, but have never received a response. Phone is always busy, and they do not respond to email. We will never order from Burgess again!

Burgess Seed And Plant Company - Waiting and Waiting
My bigness complain is the lack of response from my emails and cant connect to them via phone. However, my story is I placed an order almost 2 months ago. After 4 weeks of waiting i wrote them an email inquiring about my order. Some days later i get a response telling me that they were packing my order. Plus this is when they charged my credit card. So i am excited and cant wait to get my order. 10 days later i get my order. 5 crummy watermelon seeds. Paid 80 dollars or them. I doubt if ill Get 80 dollars worth of Mellons. ....Lol.... I have been trying to cancel my order ever since.

Horrible Customer Service. AVOID this company.

Plants dead on arrival. So I follow the documented process and mail the 'Original' shipping labels with a nice letter explaining that the plants 'Did not survive'. Weeks of back and forth emails only to receive my paperwork back telling me to wait six weeks to see if they come back to life. Ok, so I brush this off as most people can't correlate "Did Not Survive' = 'Dead'...Now I call the number listed on website. First lady was very polite but was powereless to help me. Get transferred to her supervisor. I am told to mail in the original labels and explain. Apparently I didn't use the key words "dead, broken, or moldy". I only said "Did not survive". I'm still confused at this point where the translation problem is. So now I have to write a new letter with the new BUZZ swords and start the Replacement Proccess all over again. And was told that Customer Service has ZERO authority to authorise replacement items. Their ability is literally to "bla bla bla" over the phone in hopes you will simply give up and hang up the phone. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST......

Complaint of bushes

In Feb of 2020 I ordered Sweet Candy Raspberries (6) Logan Berries(6) and 6 rhubarb plants. My Capital one account paid for these plants. They finally arrived. None of the Logan barries lived or even were alive and I have 1 of the candy raspbarrys that lived. 3 of the Rhubarb plants lived. I have a large berry garden and I know how to plant the bushes. I would like them replaced. I have bought from you for several years. This is the first time I have been disappointed. I also bought 6 hostas and none of them lived. Planting time is here. NO communication from Burgess.

My order for tomatoes was sent March 31, by mail. NO communication, no plants. The single phone number is ALWAYS a busy signal.COMMUNICATE! Do I have to buy locally or do I have a shipment coming? Garrett O'Dell, 845-246-****.

Cancel order

Placed an order on March 28, 2020 with a promise of receiving said order in 2-3 weeks. I have yet to receive my order. I want to cancel my order and receive a refund of $88.09. Please take me off your mailing list. I am very disappointed in your company. I'd like to receive my refund on my credit card as quickly as you placed it.

Unhappy with service and merchandise

Ordered plants without looking at reviews, which was a mistake. First of all it took weeks and weeks to get the items ordered (this included not plant items like grass seed and plastic mulch fabric). Then, when I started emailing them (you can't speak to a person at Burgess...they only have a call center who the operators really know nothing and can't help) and telling them to cancel the order items started trickling in. I received 5 sweet potato plants which only 2 were still alive (yes, I soaked them in water and planted immediately. Then I received moldy seed potatoes, and 4 plants that they say are sweet peas but I have no idea what they are. Needless to say I will not be ordering from them again.

Cheated on order and received dead plants

These people can't count. Ordered sweet pepper collection with 20 plants for $24.99. Got 16 plants. Several of those were dead since they shipped during 20 degree temps. Won't make it right even though they admit they were out of the one pepper. Want us to pay for shipping dead plants back for replacement or refund. Refuse to answer emails. Crooks!!! Avoid.

Horrible Customer Service

The company is not able to respond to consumer questions and they put up excuses like the pandemic as a reason they cant inform people when their orders will ship.
