DON'T DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY

Takes weeks to ship your order which in my case meant it was way past normal planting season for my plants. The ones that did survive are stunted, way behind growth where they should be at this point in the season. Plants arrived jammed in my mailbox, broken, dry and dead. I placed a considerable order of which 85% did not survive. Emails and calls did absolutely nothing to replace or refund. Staff is clueless when you call multiple times requesting an expected ship date. I will never order from this entity again and will stick with reputable businesses,nurseries who have a history of awesome customer service and guarantee their product. Cannot post pics as it says my files are too large.

Order was wrong and they will only do further business via snailmail.

This company is nothing but a joke. I ordered 2 roses and the order came in a plastic bag and both "bushes" were broken in several places. I was told by the company to plant them anyway. So I did, and I wound up with bushes that were much smaller than they would have been, but they grew. When they bloomed, they weren't at all what I ordered... not even close. I emailed and they said I had to have my original shipping label. Why would I still have that? Then after a little more back and forth with them, they agreed to make an exception on the shipping label if I provided them with my CC statement proving I paid for them. Are you KIDDING me? Is this a JOKE? You want me to disclose all my financial transactions to you so you can verify something you should already have in your records? I mean, you keep records of your business, right? I even sent them my receipt in the email and they said they could only do it via snailmail. OK, now I know there's something wrong with these guys. I mean, who does business on the internet and won't take one of their own order receipts as proof? Just check it against your system to make sure it's accurate. No dice. They won't budge. Either I disclose all my financial information in my CC statement or I can't get the plants I ordered. Nobody is this dumb. This business has to be a scam. I've now seen some of the other reviews on this site and one of them said that customer service said things had to be one via snailmail because the manager didn't use phone or email? Do they think we're *** Who refuses to use a phone? I order things from dozens of other sites all the time, many of them nurseries and I've never been treated this way. And I see that their customer service has come on here many times to say they're sorry and that they take pride in their customer service, etc. That's garbage. Nobody who takes pride in their customer service tells you to physically write them a letter because their boss doesn't ever use a phone or email. Nobody who has good service makes you save a shipping label for months on end until you're sure the order is right. Nobody who has good service expects you to dig up plants and pay to ship them back. Nobody who has good service expects you to disclose all of your financial transactions to prove you bought something when they should have a record of the transaction themselves. Nobody who's proud of their service sends live plants in a plain plastic bag so it can be crushed. Nobody who has good service takes weeks to answer an email. This company is a fraud and I guarantee you that's why they have to do business under to many names. And I'm sure that someone from customer service will come on and give the same boiler plate *** about being sorry that things went poorly, blahblahblah. I don't care. If you were really sorry you would actually do something about it. I don't believe it for a second. I can see through that kind of cover-up. Get a negative review, and then go online and make a semi-contrite statement to make it look like you're actually handling the problem. It's the formula for controlling damage without having to do anything about it. So Burgess, if you're thinking of writing a reply to this review, put it in a letter with a written copy of the review you're replying to and send it to the owners of this site.

Order placed March 2nd. All items were said to be in stock. I tried calling for status on shipping, always got a busy signal. Finally got through about 2 weeks ago. They said waiting on one plant. Should be in week of 4/17, but he couldn't say they would ship week of 4/17. Now it's 4/26. I'm still waiting for my plants that were "in stock" almost 2 months later. Have tried to call numerous times today. Line is busy. I will never order from this company again.

If you plan to buy seed or plants from Burgess seed and plant company don't they sent dead plants and they are still dead after 4 weeks in the ground the order was missing plants they still haven't sent out the replacement when you call about your order they lied to you don't do business with this company.

Worst place ever to buy from

I ordered some plants from them and when they arrived i noticed they shorted me a few bulbs. I called the company and was told to write a letter of what i didn't receive and send the shipping label. That was over 2 months ago and i still have not gotten anything from them plus most of the plants they did send me are junk and are not growing and i cant return them because THEY have my shipping label which i need to return. I believe this is how they scam people I will never buy from their company again. their customer service is a joke too. Biggest waste of my money ever.

Dutch Gardens BE FOREWARNED!

3/17/2017: Today I received a "check" from Dutch Gardens to be spent only at their online store. The check was only for the amount of the plants I paid for but not my shipping charges.

The letter that accompanied the check said they went above and beyond by refunding my cost of the plants because normally they would not do this since I didn't mail their dead plants back to them - which would have been done AT MY COST, not theirs. Well, I figured it was smarter to not throw good money after bad.

Listen, this used to be a world class company, but something happened and they clearly could care less about customer service and the quality of their product is garbage. If you want to check out the best of the best, visit Bluestone Perennials or Santa Rosa Gardens.

This company owns Dutch Gardens, an online plant store. BE FORWARNED OF THE DUTCH GARDENS REFUND/RETURN POLICIES IF YOU ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL END UP PAYING FOR THEIR MISTAKES. I ordered three Christmas cactus plants and they waited almost a month to send these to me. The plants arrived at my door mushy and dying. These were supposed to be Christmas gifts, so I immediately called the company to find out if there is any way to revive the plants, and was told to send an email to cusomter service. Three days go by without a response to my email so I called again. The rep told me that I could wait and see if the plants survive (doubtful) otherwise, my other options were to 1) get replacement plants next year because they were done shipping for the year, or 2) I could send the plants back to them AT MY EXPENSE and they would refund my money LESS MY ORIGINAL SHIPPING CHARGES! This is the most ridiculous policy I have ever heard of. So tell me what company sends you a defective product and expects you to eat the cost? I asked if I could speak with a surpervisor, but "gee, there was no supervisor working today". I asked if they could have a supervisor call me when they are available, and was told "that's not how it works, you have to call them". I asked for the name of the supervisor so I could call tomorrow, but, "gee, they don't know who might be working tomorrow, I just have to call, that is how it works". I have never been so FRUSTRATED with a company. PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
